Tri-School Theatre Announces our 2019-2019 Season
"Milestones and Memories" a 30th Anniversary!
We are inviting YOU to join us in celebrating our 30th year. That’s right, for the past 30 years Tri-School Theatre has continued the tradition of helping students discover themselves and nurture their God-given talents through process-oriented training in a Christ-centered environment. To commemorate the occasion our 2018-2019 season (appropriately themed “Milestones and Memories”) will feature two major works. In the fall, we are thrilled to present a Musical Revue (Looking Back/Moving Forward) which will not only look back at some of our greatest moments but look into the future with tunes from spectacular musicals we’ve not done yet. In the spring we will share our anniversary celebration with the 75th anniversary of what many consider to be Broadway’s first musical, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma!. We hope you will RSVP “yes” to this party!
Looking Back/Moving Forward, a 30th Anniversary Revue
Tri-School Theatre has a rich history filled with memorable moments and our fall Musical Revue will bring that history to life! Join us for a multimedia experience, giving you a behind-the-scenes look at Tri-School Theatre from the people who built it. In Act One, you will hear from current students and alumni, featuring “then and now” star turns from iconic shows and personal stories, including a few notable and amusing accounts of when things went wrong. Act Two will look into the future, with numbers from yet-to-be produced shows, as well as selected performances from shows that our students are always begging us to do. Whether it's your first Tri-School show or your thirtieth, this will be an evening to remember!
November 15th, 16th, and 17th at 7pm; November 18th at 2pm
Music by Richard Rodgers
Book and Lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II
Based on the play “Green Grows the Lilacs” by Lynn Riggs
Original Dances by Agnes DeMille
Oklahoma! is presented through special arrangement with R&H Theatricals: www.rnh.com.
Celebrating its 75th anniversary, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s collaboration remains their most innovative, having set the standards and established the rules of musical theater still being followed today. Set in a Western Native American territory just after the turn of the century, the high spirited rivalry between the local farmers and cowboys provides the colorful background against which Curly, a handsome cowboy, and Laurey, a winsome farm girl, play out their love story. Although the road to true love never runs smooth, with these two headstrong romantics holding the reins, love’s journey is as bumpy as a surrey ride down a country road. Featuring hit songs like “Oh What a Beautiful Morning”, “People Will Say We’re in Love”, and “Surrey with a Fringe on Top” played in an exciting arrangement by two onstage pianists!
May 2nd, 3rd, and 4th at 7pm; May 5th at 2pm
